per JP:

Good Morning to all!!!,

I was able to personally talk with Giles last night at the hospital and we covered a lot of ground, The main message I got from him was “I LOVE YOU GUYS” and he sounded pretty choked up when he said it. He is doing really well and I will go over all we talked about below.

Now to the meat of the conversation, Giles said he is looking to be out of the hospital in a week or 2 and then on to recovery mode. His Doctor DR. Sung, is awesome and has been going out of his way checking on Big G. He said he wants to stay down there at the marina resort for most of the recovery as they have a great pool, gym and dining room with great food and everything he needs to recover, but he did say he will want to head back to USA in the 2nd week in Feb.

The infection he had is all but gone and he said he hopes to reply later this week in a personal email to all of us, I told him we would like to get a picture of him and he said he will see what he can do. He still wants to wait on receiving any phone call as even when I talked to him he sounded pretty tired.

He said he can now hold the phone in his right hand, but his left is still pretty tattered, he can’t move the last 2 fingers of his left right now but he is confident they will be alright and as he said “Each day is a huge improvement!!” He was grateful to a gentleman he knows who used to work with Jensen marine who got Petral safe and sound. He also said money is no problem but I told him it’s not about money, it’s about the hassle getting to it and that if he needs us to do any arranging we will handle it all and it can be settled up later.

He gave me more exact details about the accident:

He said it was around sunset when he and Jeff were heading back to the petral with a couple jerry cans of fuel to start the next leg of the journey, they were doing about 5 kts and a 30 foot long tail was doing about 30 kts came up on him and he said there was absolutely no time to react when it hit him. He credits Aussie Jeff with saving his life as it was he who pulled him into his boat and stayed with him all the way through ignoring his personal injuries which consist of a messed up back and other injuries. It was Jeff and his girlfriend who got him to the English doctor who just happened to be at the dock at the time of the accident Jeff stayed with Giles for two days ensure his secure care in this situation. We really got to hand it to Jeff he saved our boys life!!! Not to mention Jeff still may need medical attention and I think if there is anything we could do for Jeff it would be great.

In closing all is looking better and we should all give a heartfelt thanks to Jeff who was really the hero of the day in this matter, I for one say thank you so much for being there you are a great person!!!

Till tomorrow

Everyone take care and know Giles Loves you guys!!! One and all.

JP
